Apple in September teased that Powerbeats Pro 2 would be released in 2025, and now it looks as if we know what day they’ll be unveiled. Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman over the weekend said Apple is planning to unveil the wireless earbuds on Tuesday, February 11.
Powerbeats Pro 2 will be priced at $250 in the U.S., Gurman said.
The new earbuds resemble the existing Powerbeats Pro, which were released back in 2019, but sport a more vertical, slimmer design. No other new features or specific details about the Powerbeats Pro 2 have been officially released at this time.
According to Gurman, the Powerbeats Pro 2 will feature the same H2 chip as used in the AirPods Pro 2, which will enable improved active noise cancellation compared to the original Powerbeats Pro.
Powerbeats Pro are promoted as a fitness-focused version of Apple’s AirPods Pro, which boast built-in adjustable ear hooks to keep the earbuds in place. The current Powerbeats Pro have the same H1 chip that debuted alongside the AirPods 2. They are IPX4-rated for sweat and water resistance, offer up to nine hours of battery life, and include four different sized silicone ear tips.
While Beats has not yet announced the Powerbeats Pro 2, possible upgrades could include heart rate monitoring during workouts, longer battery life, improved sound, and a USB-C charging case, but we won’t know until an official announcement is released by Beats.
Recently exposed code in iOS 18 indicate new color options, including Electric Orange. Gurman confirmed both the heart rate monitoring feature and the orange color option in his newsletter.
