Apple’s fourth-generation iPhone SE could be unveiled as soon as next week, followed by a launch later this month, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. Apple isn’t expected to hold an event to debut the iPhone SE 4, and will instead be revealed via a press release.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature an iPhone 14-style design, with a USB-C port and Face ID, replacing the Lightning port and Touch ID Home button the current iPhone SE is equipped with.
The fourth-generation iPhone SE’s display is said to considerably increase in size, from the current 4.7 inches to 6.06 inches, and will also feature an OLED display panel for the first time. The new iPhone SE4 is also expected to be powered by the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16 lineup, providing support for Apple Intelligence. The handset is expected to include 8GB of LPDDR5 memory, an aluminum chassis, and a single rear 48-megapixel camera.
Apple is also planning to use its own custom in-house modem in the iPhone SE 4, making it the first iPhone to get the new modem chip.
The fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to carry a price tag of $499 to $549. The current iPhone SE debuted in March 2022 and carried a $429 price tag.
Gurman suggests that Apple will unveil the iPhone SE 4 around the same time as the new PowerBeats Pro 2 earbuds, which Apple plans to unveil as soon as February 11.
