Amsterdam Apple Store Wasn’t Open on Easter Sunday, But the Doors Were Unlocked

Amsterdam Apple Store Wasn’t Open on Easter Sunday, But the Doors Were Unlocked

Easter Sunday strollers in Amsterdam were able to enjoy a no-hassle, employee-free browsing experience at a Dutch Apple Store. Why? The store was meant to be closed for the holiday, but whoever was supposed to handle locking the stores doors failed to hop to it, reports Algemeen Dagblad.

A group of weekend shoppers in Amsterdam entered the Apple Store in Leidseplein on Sunday with the intent of purchasing an Apple Watch, only to dicover that they were the only ones in the store. There were no other shoppers, and even mode odd, there were no Apple Store staff around to assist with their Purchase!

The store was actually closed for the Easter Sunday holiday. While staff had powered down all of the devices that were on display and all marketing screens were turned off, the doors were not locked.

Unlike what you might expect to see in some countries ::COUGH!:: the United States ::COUGH!:: the customers entering the store didn’t immediately take the unlocked store as an opportunity to get a five-fingered discount, some of the twenty citizens that had entered the store actually contacted the police, ushered everyone out of the store, and waited for the police to show up to prevent any looting. (Hopefully Apple will reward these honest folks with a new Apple Watch, or at least an Apple gift card.)
