Apple Completes Engineering Validation Testing Milestone for iPhone 17 Ahead of Mass Production

Apple Completes Engineering Validation Testing Milestone for iPhone 17 Ahead of Mass Production

Apple has completed Engineering Validation Testing (EVT) for at least one of its upcoming iPhone 17 models, according to a paywalled preview of an upcoming DigiTimes report. (Shared by MacRumors)

The EVT stage is inyended to ensure that the hardware performs to design goals and specifications. This ensures that the design meets requirements and specification while validation ensures that device meets the user needs and objectives. The device will still need to go through the DVT (Design Validation Test) and PVT (Production Validation Test) stages to follow before the devices enter mass production.

These tests are routine, yet they are a key milestone as Apple works to have the iPhone 17 lineup ready for a traditional September launch.

Even after the EVT stage, everything is not set in stone and Apple can make some minor iPhone spec changes if needed.
