Bloomberg’s Gurman: 20th Anniversary iPhone Will Feature Mostly Glass, All-Screen Design

Apple will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iPhone X and the 20th anniversary of the OG iPhone with a mostly glass, curved iPhone that will not have any cutouts in the device’s display, says Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

Gurman’s comments came in his latest Power On newsletter. Gurman said the anniversary device will debut later in 2027, indicating we can expect a fall release. Apple will release its first foldable iPhone earlier in the year, he claims.

Gurman didn’t elaborate on what he meant by a “mostly glass, curved iPhone.” While Apple has received a patent for a possible future iPhone with a wraparound all-glass display, so that may be what he was referring to.

In April, Gurman said Apple is planning to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its iPhone with a “bold” 2027 iPhone Pro redesign. He said that Apple plans to launch a foldable iPhone alongside a “bold” new iPhone Pro model that makes more extensive use of glass.

Well-connected Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo earlier this month provided what he said is Apple’s roadmap for future iPhone releases.

Kuo said future iPhone releases will follow this schedule:

  • 2H25: iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Slim, iPhone 17
  • 1H26: iPhone 17e
  • 2H26: iPhone Foldable, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Slim
  • 1H27: iPhone 18, iPhone 18e
  • 2H27: iPhone Foldable 2 (already kicked off), iPhone 19 Pro Max, iPhone 19 Pro, iPhone 19 Slim (with a larger display vs. 18 Slim)

Kuo claims Apple will launch its first foldable iPhone in the second half of 2026, followed by a second-generation model in 2027, which will be the 20th anniversary of the iPhone.
