Apple Launches M2 Mac Mini Repair Program to Fix Power Issue

Apple Launches M2 Mac Mini Repair Program to Fix Power Issue

Apple on Friday launched a repair program for Mac mini models with the M2 chip. The Cupertino firm said it determined that a “very small percentage” of M2-powered Mac mini models may no longer power on. The program does not cover any other Mac mini models.

While Mac mini models with the M2 chip were first released in 2023, Apple says that the affected units were manufactured between June 16 and November 23 of 2024.

Apple has determined that a very small percentage of Mac mini (2023) devices with the M2 chip may no longer power on. Affected devices were manufactured between June 16, 2024 to November 23, 2024.

If you have experienced this issue with your Mac mini, you can enter its serial number on Apple’s website to determine if it is eligible for this program. If your M2 Mac mini is covered, Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will provide service, free of charge.

Service Process

Choose one of the options below to have your Mac mini serviced. Your Mac mini will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program.

If you have questions or need further assistance, please contact Apple Support.

The program is available worldwide, and covers an eligible Mac mini for up to three years after it was purchased. Apple may restrict or limit repair to the original country or region of purchase. This repair program does not extend the standard warranty coverage of your Mac mini.
