The upcoming version of Chrome that Google is currently testing will no longer support for devices running iOS 16, meaning that Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone X models will no longer be able to run the browser.
Apple dropped support for both devices upon the release of iOS 17, which Chrome will require iOS 17 or higher to install the browser. It should also be noted that the upcoming new version of Chrome (v138.7204.13) will require iPadOS 17 to run, so the browser will also drop support for the iPad 5, iPad Pro (9.7-inch), and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st generation).
While the upcoming new version of Chrome is currently being beta tested, it isn’t clear when the new version will be released to the public.
