Apple Releases watchOS 11.6, tvOS 18.6, and visionOS 2.6 to the Public

Apple Releases watchOS 11.6, tvOS 18.6, and visionOS 2.6 to the Public

Apple on Tuesday released watchOS 11.6, tvOS 18.6, and visionOS 2.6, for the Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro, respectively.

watchOS 11.6

watchOS 11.6 is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 6 and later, all Apple Watch Ultra models, and the Apple Watch SE 2.

watchOS 11.5 can be downloaded for free through the iPhone Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to “General” -> “Software Update.” The Apple Watch needs to have at least a 50% battery charge, needs to be on a charger, and needs to be in the range of the ‌‌iPhone‌‌.

The watchOS 11.6 update focuses on bug fixes and security improvements, with no new features included.

tvOS 18.6

tvOS 18.6 is available for the Apple TV 4K and ‌Apple TV‌ HD models.

The ‌tvOS 18.5 update can be downloaded via the Settings app on the ‌‌Apple TV‌‌ by going to “System” -> “Software Update.” If you have automatic software updates turned on your Apple TV will be upgraded to ‌‌tvOS 18.5 automatically.

This update includes performance and stability improvements. Apple shares full release notes for tvOS in its tvOS support document, which is updated after each new version of tvOS comes out.

Apple has also released a new version of the HomePod Software 18.6 for the ‌HomePod‌ and HomePod mini. ‌HomePod‌ software is based on tvOS. According to Apple’s release notes, the ‌HomePod‌ software update also includes performance and stability improvements.

visionOS 2.6

The ‌visionOS‌ 2.6 update can be installed by opening the Settings app on the Vision Pro and going to the “General” section and selecting “Software Update.” To install the update, the Vision Pro headset will need to be removed to install new software, and a progress bar will be shown on the front EyeSight display.

According to Apple’s release notes, visionOS 2.6 focuses on bug fixes and under-the-hood improvements. There are no new features in the update.
