Apple Seeds iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 Release Candidates to Developers and Public Beta Testers

Apple Seeds iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 Release Candidates to Developers and Public Beta Testers

Apple today seeded the release candidates of its upcoming iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 updates to developers for testing. The new release candidates come one week after the release of the third betas.

Developers and public beta testers can download the RC by going to the Settings app, then tapping on “General” -> “Software Update” on iPhone and iPad devices.

Release candidates are usually identical to the final version of the software that will be released to the public provided that no show stopping bugs be found.

iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 are relatively minor updates, and only minor changes have been discovered. While the software updates mostly focus on bug fixes and security improvements behind the scenes, the update will also bring additional changes to the App Store in the European Union.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas or release candidates on their daily driver iPhone or iPad. Instead, only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
