Samsung Has Begun Foldable iPhone Display Production Ahead of 2026 Launch

The first display panels for Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone have begun rolling off production lines in preparation of a 2026 release, reports Korea’s ETNews.

Samsung Display is the supplier of foldable display screens for the upcoming foldable iPhone, having established a production line in its A3 factory in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do, solely to make displays for the display device. It will be capable of producing 15 million 7-inch foldable OLED panels per year.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to have an inward-folding OLED display. It will likely debut alongside the other models in the 2026 ‌iPhone‌ lineup, including the iPhone 18, ‌iPhone 18‌ Air, ‌iPhone 18‌ Pro, and ‌iPhone 18‌ Pro Max. Apple is expected to refresh the foldable annually, in the fall just like the other models.

Samsung Display reportedly secured a multi-year agreement with Apple to provide foldable display. Samsung’s manufacturing capabilities would allow it to crank out more than twice as many displays than the number of foldable iPhones Apple expects to sell in its first year, allowing it to be ready for added production as sales increase.
