In 2022, T-Mobile launched what it called “Network Pass,” which offered a free 90-day trial of a T-Mobile eSIM, allowing users to give the T-Mobile network a try with their unlocked eSIM phones. While the program has proven popular, the “Uncarrier” has renamed the program and made some changes.
The Mobile Report says the provider’s new “T-Mobile Trial” program offers a load of new features that were not available in the “Network Pass” days, basically providing all of the features customers would have if they opened a postpaid T-Mobile plane, including access to T-Mobile Tuesdays freebies and benefits, and the T-Life app. However one change in the plan will likely not prove to be as popular as the other features.
In addition to T-Mobile Tuesday freebies, like water bottles, free MLB.TV subscriptions, and much more, trial users will also get free in-flight Wi-Fi on select flights for up to 4 flights during the trial, and 5GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico (speeds will fall to 256kbps after that). The free trial also offers an impressive 250GB of high-speed hotspot data via tethering.
Last but not least, trial users will have access to the T-Satellite network, offer text messages anywhere in the U.S. that isn’t covered by traditional cell towers.
Now for the downer. Unlike Network Pass before it, the T-Mobile Trial is only for 30 days. The old promo plan gave users 90 days to give the T-Mobile network a try. Still, 30 days should be enough time to give the Magenta network a good try.
T-Mobile Trial is now available to anyone that isn’t already a T-Mobile customers and can be setup via the T-Life app on any unlocked eSIM-capable device. For more information, check out T-Mobile’s page here.
