Apple Testing Revamped Siri With Select Third-Party Apps Like Amazon, Facebook, Others

Apple is testing a revamped version of Siri with select third-party apps, including AllTrails, Amazon, Facebook, Threads, Temu, Uber,  YouTube, WhatsApp, and a few games, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Gurman’s comments came in his latest Power On newsletter on Sunday. He said Apple continues to test Siri with its own apps.

When Apple first unveiled the new-and-improved Siri at WWDC24, the company said Siri would boast better understanding of a user’s personal context, on-screen awareness, and deeper per-app controls. These new features would use Apple Intelligence and an upgraded App Intents system.

Gurman said the new App Intents system will let you take action within apps entirely with Siri voice commands:

Here’s what the new App Intents will mean: With nothing but your voice, you’ll be able to tell Siri to find a specific photo, edit it and send it off. Or comment on an Instagram post. Or scroll a shopping app and add something to your cart. Or log in to a service without touching the screen. Essentially, Siri could operate your apps like you would — with precision, inside their own interfaces.

Gurman says the new Siri will likely launch in the United States in spring 2026, meaning it will likely debut alongside the iOS 26.4 update, as well as the iPadOS 26.4, macOS 26.4, and visionOS 26.4 sometime next March or April. The new Siri will likely rollout slowly to other countries.

Apple is mulling over either limit or disable some of the new Siri features in apps such as banking or health-centric apps. This is due to critical mistakes that have arisen during internal testing, says Gurman.
