Apple today announced that it has launched its Self Service Repair and Genuine Parts Distributor programs in Canada. The programs provide individuals and independent repair professionals broader access to the parts, tools, and manuals needed to repair Apple devices.
The Self Service Repair program, which was launched in 2022, provides customers with access to genuine Apple parts, tools, and manuals, allowing them to repair select iPhone, iPad, and Mac models, the Studio Display, and the Beats Pill. Apple says the program is “intended for individuals with the knowledge and experience to repair electronic devices.”
“Expanding Apple’s repair programs in Canada is another milestone in our mission to make repairs easier and more accessible around the globe,” said Brian Naumann, Apple’s vice president of AppleCare Service and Repair. “With today’s announcement, we’re taking a meaningful step toward broadening device longevity, reducing waste, and empowering both customers and repair professionals with quality, secure repair options.”
Self Service Repair and Genuine Parts Distributor join Apple’s existing repair options in Canada. As the company continues to expand its repair network, 80% of the Canadian population is now within a 30-minute drive of an Apple Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) location, or Independent Repair Provider (IRP).
