Foldable iPhone to Feature Four Cameras, Touch ID, and More, Says Tech Journalist

Foldable iPhone to Feature Four Cameras, Touch ID, and More, Says Tech Journalist

Apple’s initial foldable iPhone will boast four cameras, and will use Touch ID in place of Face ID, says Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

Gurman’s comments came in his latest Power On newsletter, which he released on Sunday. Gurman said the four cameras will consist of one front camera, one inner camera, and two rear cameras.

Gurman says the foldable iPhone will likely have a Touch ID-enabled power button, same as current iPad Air, iPad mini, and entry-level iPad models.

The foldable iPhone will use Apple’s second-generation C2 modem for cellular connectivity, but it will lack a physical SIM card slot, said Gurman.

Apple is currently testing black and white color options for the foldable iPhone, Gurman added.

Gurman says he believes the foldable iPhone will sport a book-like design, providing a large inner display when the device is unfolded. Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has previously said that the foldable iPhone will boast a 5.5-inch outer display, and a 7.8-inch “crease-free” inner display when unfolded.

Gurman said Apple recently switched from on-cell to in-cell display technology for the device, which should help to make the foldable iPhone’s crease “less obvious.”

He said Apple plans to release the foldable iPhone in 2026.
