Price increases are becoming an annual thing for the Mickey Mouse outfit known as Disney, as the last increase in the price of Disney+ occurred in October 2024.
When Disney hiked Disney+ subscription rates last year and began cracking down on password sharing, the service lost 700,000 subscribers. Disney could see a similar drop in subscription numbers with the new price hike, due to the higher price and also perhaps due to Disney’s decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show from the air at ABC. Although Disney later reversed its decision, some subscribers could hold a grudge and pull their subscriptions.
