Apple released its new AirPods Pro 3 last month, and is already working on the next version of the wireless earbuds, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.
Gurman’s comments came in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter. He didn’t specify whether the new AirPods Pro would carry the “AirPods Pro 4” moniker or if they would dimply be marketed as an updated version of AirPods Pro 3. Gurman merely referred to them as a “new version” of the “high-end in-ear buds.”
Gurman also said Apple is developing its next-generation H3 chip for wireless audio, which will bring improved sound quality and lower latency.
Apple is also developing two tiers of AirPods 5, according to Gurman.
The current AirPods Pro 3 offer heart rate monitoring during workouts. However, Gurman does not expect this feature to make an appearance on the AirPods 5. Apple is planning several new health features for future AirPods, says Gurman, such as temperature sensing.
Gurman repeated his previous claim that Apple is considering adding cameras to at least some AirPods models.
