Major Airline Adds Support for iOS 26 Boarding Pass Feature

United Airlines has become the first airline to offer support for Apple Wallet’s new enhanced boarding passes feature in iOS 26, according to a 9to5Mac report.

With the recent release of iOS 26, Apple’s built-in Wallet app offers boarding passes that support Live Activities. Boarding passes in your Wallet will allow you to keep track of a flight at a glance on your iPhone’s lock screen and in the Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro and newer handsets.

The Wallet app also displays relevant information, such as Maps to navigate airports, Find My to track important items, report missing bags, and more. Plus, new shortcuts are now available below the passes providing one-tap access to open Apple Maps for airport directions, and to open the Find My app for baggage tracking. The Wallet app also automatically updates flight details, including the flight’s gate and departure time.

The report says users must manually enable the Live Activity through the Wallet app, as it doesn’t activate automatically. Also, when a user shares flight status with others, they see the Live Activity, minus boarding group and seat information.

In addition to United, several other major carriers will soon offer the new board pass features. These include:

  • Air Canada
  • American Airlines
  • Delta
  • JetBlue
  • Southwest Airlines
  • Jetstar
  • Lufthansa
  • Qantas
  • Virgin Australia.
