Apple today seeded the third betas of its upcoming iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 updates to developers for testing. The new betas come one week after Apple seeded the second betas to developers.
Registered developers can download the new iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 beta software using the Software Update section of the Settings app.
iOS 26.2 adds a Liquid Glass slider on the Lock Screen to adjust the transparency of the clock, plus it brings AirPods Live Translation to the European Union. The Reminders app now supports alarms for when tasks are due, and there are updates to the Podcasts and Apple News apps.
Users in Japan that install the beta will find they now have the ability to install third-party alternatives to the official App Store on their iPhone, while also being able to designate a preferred search engine immediately after installing the beta.
The Reminders app now offers support for alarms for when tasks are due, and there are updates to the Podcasts and Apple News apps. Menu animations have been remodeled, and CarPlay now supports disabling pinned messages in the Messages app.
While the third iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 betas are currently limited to developers, Apple will likely release a public beta in the next day or two.
As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on their daily driver iPhone or iPad. Instead, only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
