Apple on Monday seeded the second public betas of its upcoming iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, and watchOS 26.2 updates. The new betas come two weeks after the first public betas were released.
Public beta testers can download the iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 updates by going to the Settings app, then tapping on “General” -> “Software Update” and choosing the iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 Public Beta options on their iPhone and iPad devices after opting into the beta through Apple’s public beta testing website.
The tvOS 26.2 and watchOS 26.2 public betas can be downloaded from the Settings app on compatible Apple TVs and Apple Watches, respectively after signing up for Apple’s public beta testing program. The updates are expected to be released to all users sometime in December.
iOS 26.2 adds a Liquid Glass slider on the Lock Screen to adjust the transparency of the clock, plus it brings AirPods Live Translation to the European Union. The Reminders app now supports alarms for when tasks are due, and there are updates to the Podcasts and Apple News apps.
Users in Japan that install the beta will find they now have the ability to install third-party alternatives to the official App Store on their iPhone, while also being able to designate a preferred search engine immediately after installing the beta.
The Reminders app now offers support for alarms for when tasks are due, and there are updates to the Podcasts and Apple News apps. Menu animations have been remodeled, and CarPlay now supports disabling pinned messages in the Messages app.
As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on their daily driver iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Apple Watch. Instead, only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
