Apple on Tuesday seeded the third public beta of its upcoming macOS Tahoe 26.2 update. The new public beta comes one day after the release of the third developer beta.
Registered public beta testers can download the macOS Tahoe 26.2 public beta from the settings app on their Mac.The update will likely be released to the public in December.
macOS Tahoe 26.2 beta 2 adds an Edge Light feature that can be used for video calls. The feature provides a light border around the edges of the Mac’s display, acting like a physical ring light to provide improved lighting.
Edge Light uses the Neural Engine for positioning, so it is optimally placed around your face in the video frame. The light color can be adjusted from warm to cool, and the feature is available in video conferencing apps. The feature is only available on Macs powered by Apple Silicon.
As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on their daily driver Mac. Instead, only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
