Spotify has announced it is now rolling out music videos to Premium users in the U.S. and Canada, though the streamer says the feature remains in beta. Music videos from artists like Addison Rae, Tyler Childers, Natanael Cano, Ariana Grande, and others are now available.
This expansion gives millions more listeners access to a catalog of official music videos, from studio versions to live performances and covers. The initial video catalog is limited for now while the feature is in beta, but stay tuned as availability will grow quickly over the coming months.
Premium subscribers will see a “Switch to Video” icon appear above the song title in supported music tracks. Tapping starts the song from the beginning with accompanying video within the Now Playing view, which can also be rotated to landscape orientation on iPhone and Android.
Additional music videos can be found by scrolling down to explore Related Music Videos, or by visiting an artist’s profile and looking under the Music tab. Videos can also be viewed by genre and era via playlists.
While Spotify first announced beta support for music videos in March 2024, the feature was available only in the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Kenya. It has since then been expanded to 97 countries around the world. Spotify says music videos will be available to all Premium users in the US and Canada by the end of the month.
Apple Music has included its own music video catalog since the feature was introduced alongside the release of iOS 11.3 in March 2018.
