Apple on Thursday released new firmware for the AirPods Pro 3 and the prior-generation AirPods Pro 2. The AirPods Pro 3 firmware has a build number of 8B30, up from 8B25, while the AirPods Pro 2 firmware has a build number of 8B28, up from 8B21.
While Apple doesn’t offer release notes for firmware updates, the new firmware for the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 could offer expanded support for Live Translation in the European Union in iOS 26.2, which is currently being beta tested and will soon be released release.
Or, it could just be a bug fixes and performance improvements updated.
To update your AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods 4 firmware, make sure they are in the range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac and place your AirPods in the Charging Case, then connect the charging Case to power The case should be kept closed for at least 30 minutes for the firmware update to complete.
