Apple on Friday began notifying Apple Cash users that there is a fee increase on the way for the Instant Transfer feature. On February 18, 2026, the Instant Transfer option fee will be 1.7% of the transaction amount. The minimum fee will be $0.25 and maximum will be $25.
Instant Transfer allows Apple Cash users to transfer money from Apple Cash to their bank account with no waiting period. The current fee is 1.5% of the transaction amount, with the same $0.25 minimum fee but a lower $15 maximum fee.
For instance, making an Instant Transfer of $1,000 from Apple Cash to a bank account currently carries a $15 fee, but that will increase to $17 after February 18.
Users will still have the option to make an ACH transfer that takes one to three business days and continue to pay no fee.
Apple Cash is still only available in the United States. It can be used to send and receive money from friends and contacts right in the Messages app as an alternative to other money services like Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.
