Apple Debuts Its New Black Unity Apple Watch Band

Apple today unveiled its new Apple Watch Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop. The special-edition band is designed to honor Black History Month, while celebrating the power of connection.

The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop band, which showcases the colors of the Pan-African flag (red, green, and black), was designed by Black creatives and allies at Apple. The band is made of recycled polyester yarn filaments weaved around ultrathin silicone threads using advanced precision-braiding machinery, providing a soft and textured feel. The band is sweat and water resistant.

Apple says the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop celebrates “the power of connection.”

Aligned with this theme, Apple is proud to support organizations that inspire connection and promote creativity through impactful programs in under-resourced communities around the world. This includes grants to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus México in Mexico City. These new grants build upon Apple’s long-standing commitment to advancing economic, educational, and creative opportunities in communities globally.

The new special edition band is available is $99US in 42mm and 46mm case sizes, in band sizes from zero to 12, and it is available to order online and in the Apple Store app. It will be available in Apple Stores starting later this week. Two other Black Unity bands are also available: Unity Bloom and Unity Rhythm.
