The eighth season of Netflix’s popular docuseries, “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” premiered today, and in addition to being available on Netflix, Apple TV subscribers in the US will also have access to the full eight episodes of the season, thanks to deal between Apple TV and Netflix.
For the next five years, Apple TV will be the US streaming home for all Formula 1 races. The season takes the green flag next weekend, on March 7.
Ahead of the season’s start, Apple and Netflix have struck up a unique deal, where Apple TV will stream the latest season of Netflix’s popular Drive to Survive series, while Netflix will stream an upcoming F1 race. Both the series and the race will be available on both streaming services.
The whole eight-episode season is available here via the Apple TV app and website. The new episodes of Drive to Survive follows the action of the 2025 F1 season.
While the deal is a bit unusual, it does make sense for both streaming services, offering cross-promotion for both streaming service’s F1 content.
Apple TV+ is available on the Apple TV app in over 100 countries and regions, on over 1 billion devices, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, popular smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, TCL, and others, Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation, and Xbox gaming consoles, and at tv.apple.com, for $12.99 per month with a seven-day free trial. For a limited time, customers who purchase and activate a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, or iPod touch can enjoy three months of Apple TV+ for free.
