Apple’s much-rumored foldable iPhone could boast the largest iPhone battery ever, also eclipsing rival devices, according to well- known leaker “Fixed Focus Digital.”
In a new Weibo post, the leaker claims that the “iPhone Fold” could have a battery over 5,500 mAh in size, which would make it the largest capacity of any current or previous iPhone. The iPhone 17 Pro Max currently boasts the largest iPhone battery to date at 5,088 mAh.
The battery would dwarf the battery capacity of foldables already on the market. The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a battery capacity of 5,015 mAh, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a 4,400 mAh battery.
The leaker’s comments jibe with a previous rumor from leaker “yeux1122,” who claimed that Apple was testing a battery for the device in the 5,400–5,800 mAh range.
Apple is widely expected to unveil the “iPhone Fold” sometime late next year or early 2027. The device is rumored to boast a 5.5-inch outer display, opening up in a book-style design that features a roughly 7.8-inch inner screen. The device has been described as “super thin,” and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has compared it to “two titanium iPhone Airs side by side.” The device is also believed to have Touch ID, two rear cameras, the A20 chip, and the “C2” modem. It is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max sometime later this year.
