Earlier this week, Apple discontinued the Mac Pro, and it has now followed up on that decision by also discontinuing the Mac Pro‘s $700 wheel add-on kit. (First reported by MacRumors)
Apple debuted the Mac Pro Wheels kit in 2020, allowing Mac Pro owners to add wheels to their machine. The kit also included a 1/4-inch to 4mm hex bit for installing the wheels, as well as an installation guide.
While it was cheaper to buy the Mac Pro with a wheel option for an additional $400, the purchase didn’t include the Pro’s $300 feet. A $300 Mac Pro Feet Kit was available for users who had initially ordered wheels but wanted to swap to standard feet. That kit has also been discontinued.
With the removal of the Mac Pro and its accessories from Apple’s website, old links now redirect to the online Apple Store.
If you own a Mac Pro and missed out on buying wheels for it, you can still score a third-party wheels kit, the Rover Pro wheels kit, at a much lower price, just $200, from OWC.
