Apple today released tvOS 26.4, the fourth update to the tvOS operating system for the Apple TV that was released in September 2025. The update is compatible with the Apple TV 4K and the Apple TV HD, and the release comes around month and a half after the release of tvOS 26.3.

What’s new in tvOS 26.4
This update fixes an issue with audio playback on Apple TV 4K that can occur when sound transitions between programs with different formats, like Dolby Atmos and stereo. iTunes Movies and TV Shows apps removed with all content and playback consolidated into Apple TV app. This update also includes performance and stability improvements.
The tvOS 26.4 update can be downloaded via the Settings app on the Apple TV by going to “System” -> “Software Update.” If you have automatic software updates turned on your Apple TV will be upgraded to tvOS 26 automatically.
