Apple’s $599 MacBook Neo Available Today for Same-Day Pickup at Apple Retail Stores

Today, Apple’s new entry-level MacBook Neo hits Apple retail store shelves, while customers around the globe that have pre-ordered the new A18 Pro-powered MacBook are starting to receive their new device.

The new MacBook Neo is the first Mac to be powered by an iPhone chip. The A18 Pro debuted in the 2024 iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models. The chips boasts an integrated 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine to support on-device Apple Intelligence features .

The new MacBook features a notchless Liquid Retina display with iPad-style bezels, boasting a 2408-by-1506 resolution, 500 nits of brightness, and support for 1 billion colors. It also offers a 16-hour battery life and a 1080p front-facing camera.

Two USB-C ports (one USB-C 2 (up to 480 Mb/s) and one USB-C 3 (up to 10 Gb/s)) handle connectivity tasks, and a headphone jack is also along for the ride, as is Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6 connectivity. Dual beamforming microphones, Spatial Audio speakers, and up to 16 hours of battery life round out the features list.

The MacBook Neo uses Apple’s Magic Keyboard, while a large Multi-Touch trackpad allows users to click, scroll, swipe, and pinch anywhere on its surface. The MacBook Neo model with Touch ID enables quick and secure login authentication, and the ability to authorize purchases using Apple Pay.

The MacBook Neo starts at $599. ($499 for education customers) for a model with 256GB of storage and the Magic Keyboard, or a 512GB of storage with the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID is available for $699 ($599 for education customers). It is available in four colors: Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus.

At the time of this article, The UK Apple online store shows stock being available for pickup in most UK stores. In the United States, random spot checks of store inventory in stores in Chicago, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Nashville all availability for pickup. All sales are on a first-come, first-served basis so you might want to get your pickup order in sooner rather than later.
