Netflix is once again increasing its subscription prices across the board, with every plan to get $1 to $2 more expensive per month. The cheapest (ad-supported) tier will now cost $8.99 per month, while the “premium” 4K streaming tier is now $26.99 per month.
The new pricing is as follows:
- Standard with ads: $8.99 (up from $7.99) per month
- Standard without ads: $19.99 (up from $17.99) per month
- Premium: $26.99 (up from $24.99) per month
Extra member add-on pricing is also increasing by $1.
New members will immediately be charged the higher prices, while existing subscribers will see it the next time they pay their monthly fee (they will be alerted a month before the new prices are applied to them).
Netflix told Variety that it is updating its pricing because it delivers more value to customers.
Our approach remains the same: We continue offering a range of prices and plans to meet a variety of needs, and as we deliver more value to our members we are updating our prices to enable us to reinvest in quality entertainment and improve their experience by updating our prices.
At $27 per month, Netflix Premium is now the most expensive standalone streaming service subscription option.
The plans features and limitations will remain the same. The Standard plan allows viewing on two device at 1080p. The Premium plan allows user to stream at 4K HDR on up to four devices, with spatial audio.
