Apple’s $599 MacBook Neo has proven to be a huge hit, staying in high demand more than a month after it first launched. The Neo low price fares quite well when compared to the rising sticker prices of laptops offered by Windows PC makers, due to the rising cost of RAM and other components. Throw in that Apple charisma, and you’re going to have to wait until May to have one.
As first noticed by 9to5Mac, MacBook Neo orders placed today on the Apple Store website or in the app won’t be delivered to customers until May. The earliest any color or 256GB and 512GB SSD configurations won’t be delivered until between May 1 and May 8 at the earliest.
While some Apple retail locations show in-store availability today in select colors, some stores won’t have any in stock until May 11. Third-party retailers are also showing delayed delivery, with Best Buy and Target showing delivery dates of at least one week out.
However, if you need one sooner, you can even get a small discount on one. Amazon has the 256GB model available for $589.99 and will deliver it on Monday, April 20. The 512GB SSD model is available for $689.99 and can be delivered on Tuesday, April 21.
Demand has surprised Apple, who is ramping up production. While Apple had originally planned to sell five to six million Neo’s in 2026, it is now planning to ship 10 million units this year.
