Foldable iPhone Design Revealed in Images of Dummy Models

Well-known leaker Sonny Dickson today shared images of the first iPhone 18 Pro, ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ Max, and foldable iPhone dummy models.

The images Dickson posted back up previous rumors about the three devices, which are expected to debut in September. iPhone dummy units are 3D mockups that are used for testing purposes ahead of a devices actual production. They are used by accessory manufacturers, like those that make cases, to confirm the device’s dimensions, allowing them to design and produce their items prior to the release of new devices.

While the iPhone 18 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ Max models closely resemble the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, the only difference being a smaller Dynamic Island, the foldable dummy shows a design quite different from any previous iPhones, boasting a passport-style form factor.

The foldable iPhone dummy appears to lack a window for a glass insert for wireless charging, and instead, the handset’s rear design indicates the entire backside may be made of glass, like the iPhone Air. Also like the Air, the back-facing camera grid doesn’t stretch the entire width of the device.

The iPhone Fold is expected to sport a 5.5-inch outer display, with a iPad-style 4:3 aspect ratio 7.8-inch display when unfolded. The device is said to have a 4.5mm titanium frame, Touch ID, and a starting price of approximately $2,000.
