Google is raising prices for YouTube Premium, the first price increase since 2023. The increases will take effect immediately for new subscribers and in June for existing subscribers.
A YouTube Premium subscription will now cost $15.99 per month or $159.99 per year in the United States, up from $13.99 per month or $139.99 per year previously. Family plan subscribers will see the monthly price is increase to $26.99, up from $22.99.
Student plan subscribers will see their subscription fee increase to $8.99 per month, up from $7.99 per month.
YouTube Premium YouTube Premium provides ad-free viewing, the ability to play videos while using other apps, the ability to download videos for offline playback, and more.
YouTube Premium Lite also increased to $8.99 per month, up from $7.99 per month. “Lite” plan subscribers still see ads shown on music videos, YouTube Shorts, and when searching or browsing, and it does not include ad-free access to YouTube Music.
