Apple has not only hiked prices on many of its products, it also has not left its refurbished items out of the fun, hiking prices on refurbished Mac and iPads on its online refurbished store. While many refurbished iPad models went up by around $120 to $150, Refurbished Mac increases averaged an eye-watering $204 to $330.
Some of the changes included the 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 Pro chip rising from $1,699 to $1,779, with the Nano-texture version of the same model rising from $1,829 to $1,909. The price of a 16-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 Pro chip and Nano-texture display increased from $2,249 to $2,339.
A refurbished 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip lept from $1,359 to $1,439, with the most expensive configuration of the lineup increasing from $2,629 to $3,309. A 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 Max chip made a huge price leap, from $4,249 to $4,839.
As for the iPad, price increases include the 10th-generation iPad Wi-Fi 256GB models rising from $339 to $409, iPad mini 6 models increased from $379 to $459 and from $449 to $529, while some higher-end iPad Pro configurations scored larger price increases of $230 to $250.
Apple likes to keep its refurbished products discounted by a decent but not dazzling amount, meaning if new products rise in price, so must the refurbished versions.
Apple’s refurbished devices include genuine Apple replacement parts and have been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Some refurbished devices will include a new battery and outer shell. Every device comes with all accessories, cables and operating systems, and are packaged in a brand new white box. Refurbished products carry the same one-year limited warranty as new Apple products, and are eligible for AppleCare+ coverage, just like the new products.
If you’d rather have a new iPad or Mac without paying Apple’s newly enriched prices, there is still time to take advantage of Amazon’s Prime Day discounts on several iPad and Mac models.
