Apple Releases watchOS 26.6, tvOS 26.6, and visionOS 26.6 to the Public

Apple today released watchOS 26.6, tvOS 26.6 and visionOS 26.6, the sixth major updates to Apple’s current operating systems for the Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro, respectively. The releases come more than two months after version 26.5 of the softwares.

watchOS 26.6

According to Apple’s release notes, watchOS 26.6 includes unspecified bug fixes and security updates.

watchOS 26.6 can be downloaded for free through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to “General” -> “Software Update.” The Apple Watch needs to have at least a 50% battery charge, needs to be on a charger, and needs to be in the range of the ‌‌iPhone‌‌.

tvOS 26.6

No new features were found in tvOS 26.6 during the beta testing period, so it likely focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements. Apple shares tvOS release notes on its website, although that website has not yet been updated to include this update.

The ‌tvOS 26.6 update can be downloaded via the Settings app on the ‌‌Apple TV‌‌ by going to “System” -> “Software Update.” If you have automatic software updates turned on your Apple TV will be upgraded to ‌‌tvOS 26.6 automatically.

visionOS‌ 26.6

Apple’s release notes say that visionOS 26.6 includes bug fixes and security improvements in addition to optimizing the Spotlight index for the upcoming visionOS 27 launch. visionOS 26.6 is recommended for all Vision Pro users.

The ‌visionOS‌ 26.6 update can be installed by opening the Settings app on the Vision Pro and going to the “General” section and selecting “Software Update.” The Vision Pro headset will need to be removed to install new software, and a progress bar will be available on the front EyeSight display.
