Apple will unveil new products this week, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter on Sunday. Gurman said the products that will be updated this week include a new iPad Pro, new Vision Pro, and “likely” a new base 14-inch MacBook Pro. He says all three updated devices will be powered by Apple’s next-generation M5 chip.
Gurman does not expect Apple to hold an event to announce these products, and will instead announce them via a series of press releases on the Apple Newsroom website, as well as possibly shorter promotional videos for each product on YouTube.
Monday is a holiday in both the US and Canada (Columbus Day in the United States, and Thanksgiving in Canada), so Apple will likely hold off making any announcements until Tuesday or later.
iPad Pro
We’ve seen Russian unboxing videos of the new iPad Pro, so it is all but certain that the new tablet will be powered by an M5 chip, and will boast a minimum of 12GB or RAM. However, the videos did not reveal any major design changes. However, there is one minor design change, the removal of the “iPad Pro” inscription from the backside of the device.
Geekbench 6 results shown in one of the unboxing videos revealed the M5 chip will stick with a 9-core CPU, with three performance cores and six efficiency cores. The results showed the M5 chip will offer up to 12% faster multi-core CPU performance, and up to 36% faster GPU performance, compared to the M4 chip in the current iPad Pro.
Vision Pro
An updated version of the Vision Pro is also expected to be powered by an M5 chip, although we did see earlier rumors indicating that the device would boast an M4 chip.
An R2 chip could provide improved input processing, but it is believed that chip would be manufactured with TSMC’s latest 2nm process. The first chips using that process are not expected to be ready until the second half of 2026.
A more comfortable “Dual Knit Band” head strap is expected to be included in the box with the updated Vision Pro, and the headset could be available in a Space Black color option. Erroneously-released FCC documents recently revealed the device will continue to support Wi-Fi 6, rather than Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7.
14-inch MacBook Pro
Gurman says a base 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 chip is “ready for launch.”
Apple is expected to release a base MacBook Pro with an M5 chip before releasing higher-end models powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, which are expected to debut in early 2026. The M5 chip is expected to be the most significant change.
What About A New Apple TV and Other Products?
Updated models of the Apple TV, HomePod mini, and AirTag are “still very much on the road map,” according to Gurman, although he did not provide a timeline for those updates. He also expects Apple to launch a new base model iPad, and iPad Air, MacBook Sir, and Studio Display, as well as an iPhone 17e, sometime early next year.
