Major League Baseball today announced its television right for the 2026-2028 MLB seasons. Apple TV will continue to offer two Friday Night Baseball games through 2028.
The 2026 season will begin on March 25, 2026, with Apple’s first games to air on Friday, March 27.
In the past few months, Apple had been rumored to be considering either expanding its baseball coverage or completely abandoning the deal. However, Apple’s deal remains the same.
MLB also made new rights agreements, with Netflix, ESPN, and NBCUniversal.
Sunday Night Baseball, Sunday Leadoff, and the Wild Card Series will move from ESPN to NBC. Netflix will air the T-Mobile Home Run Derby, as well as the 2026 Field of Dreams Game and the World Baseball Classic in Japan. ESPN will have carry a national midweek game package, while also selling MLB.TV, MLB’s streaming service.
Meanwhile, Fox will air the All-Star Game as well as regular season games, and will televise the League Championship Series, Division Series, and World Series. TBS will air LCS and Division Series telecasts, as well as Tuesday night regular season games.
Apple first announced its deal with Major League Baseball in March 2022, signing a seven-year agreement valued at approximately $85 million per year. The deal granted it exclusive global streaming rights to two Friday night games each week on Apple TV+.
