Apple’s 20th anniversary iPhone will feature a radical new curved design with slimmer bezels, according to X user “@phonefuturist,” who shared the claims across two X posts yesterday and today. (First noticed by MacRumors)
The first post suggested that the device, referred to as the “anniversary” iPhone, will boast a 1.1mm bezel around the display, as well as a seamlessly curved design. An accompanying mock-up image showed a convex display glass curving down at the edges to meet a slim, iPhone X-like polished frame.
Apparently the anniversary iPhone might feature a 1.1mm frame with a rounded design to match the quad curve design, this makes the entire phone seamlessly aligned. pic.twitter.com/CoiV6ADDwn

In a follow-up post today, @phonefuturist called the device the iPhone “XX” and claimed that “Apple tried using Samsung’s UPC instead of UDC to achieve full screen but the camera quality is still not good better than UDC. So the XX might come with a smaller dynamic island than even the 18 Pro or a punch hole and Samsung’s polar ID.”
In addition to this information, Apple tried using Samsung's UPC instead of UDC to achieve full screen but the camera quality is still not good better than UDC. So the XX might come with a smaller dynamic island than even the 18 Pro or a punch hole and Samsung's polar ID. https://t.co/tuEer5uieF

Apple has long been rumored to be planning an “all-screen” design for the iPhone 20, although recent reports have indicated the company is having issues with hiding a front-facing camera beneath the display without lowered photo quality.
While several Android phones have selfie cameras located under their display, the image quality has suffered due to the lens being buried under display layers. Apple has delayed using a front-facing camera due to those imperfections, although it has been developing such a system for a while now.
Apple is expected to debut under-screen Face ID technology on next-year’s iPhone 18 Pro models, and many observers expect to see an under-display front-facing camera debut as soon as next year’s first-ever foldable iPhone.
In September we reported that Apple’s 20th anniversary iPhone will possibly use OLED display technology developed by Samsung called COE (Color Filter on Encapsulation). The technology provides a brighter and thinner display panel, using less power, while allowing more light through.
Apple Korean supplier LG Innotek is reportedly developing an under-display camera that leaves no visible hole when it is active. The new camera system’s “freeform optic” multiple lens array reduces image distortion and improves brightness.
It should be noted that the claims by @phonefuturist should be treated as just what they are, rumors. The source doesn’t have an established track record when it comes to rumors, so it’s best to keep a shaker of your favorite salt substitute handy at all times. That said, other sources have made similar claims. However, we will not know Apple’s plans for the 20th Anniversary iPhone until Apple unveils it in the fall of 2027.
