While iOS 7 faced a fair amount of criticism after it was revealed, mostly due to the new flatter design that abandons many of the design elements of previous versions, it has nevertheless been extremely popular among Apple’s customers. In fact, iOS 7 is now officially running on 74% of all iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches!

iPhone U.S. Smartphone Usage Share Rises to 40.6%

The results of comScore’s monthly rolling survey of U.S. mobile phone users for the August-September 2013 period has been released, and it shows Apple’s share of the smartphone market rising to 40.6%, while Android took 51.8% of the pie.

Alleged images of another iOS 7 compatible game controller for the iPhone has hit the net. The MFi (Made for iPhone) controller is said to be from computer peripheral manufacturer Razer, and was leaked on Twitter by @evleaks, a reliable supplier of past leaked images.

iOS 7 Adoption is Still Outpacing iOS 6’s Adoption Rate

Just one week after its release in September, iOS 7 was generating more than 51% of all iOS-based web traffic in North America. Now, a little over two months later, the adoption rate for iPhone devices has surpassed 74%, and for iPad has hit just under 64%.

Apple Seeds Third OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 Beta to Developers

Roughly two weeks after releasing the second developer beta of OS X 10.9.1 to members of their Mac Developer Program, Apple has already seeded a third 10.9.1 beta. The update bears a build number of 13B40 – 5 builds newer than the previous seed.

China Mobile’s iPhone 5s & 5c Reservation System Goes Live

A China Mobile subsidiary in Suzhou opened reservations for Apple’s iPhone 5s and 5c on Monday, lending further credence to reports that the world’s largest wireless network is about to introduce the popular smartphones to its users.
