Apple Releases MacBook Air EFI Firmware Update 2.1

Apple’s finally piecing the Thunderbolt puzzle together – new devices are being announced and released, and Apple’s new Thunderbolt display is set to hit retail store shelves in the very near future. Apple is preparing for the coming Thunderbolt age by releasing MacBook Air EFI Firmware Update 2.1.

The new EFI firmware is a 4MB update for new MacBook Airs which will improv the stability of their Lion Internet Recovery functionality, and will resolve issues and improve performance with the Apple Thunderbolt Display and Thunderbolt Target Disk Mode on 2011 MacBook Airs.

The update is available now for all eligible MacBook Airs through Software Update on your Mac. Apple’s new Thunderbolt display has already begun shipping to retail stores, and should be available for retail purchase in the very near future.
