Apple Updates iWork Suite with Full iCloud Support, Dictation, and Retina Graphics

Apple Updates iWork Suite with Full iCloud Support, Dictation, and Retina Graphics

Alongside the release of OS X Mountain Lion earlier today, Apple has finally updated their iWork suite of apps (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) with full iCloud support – including full support for Documents in the Cloud (which I’ve been wanting for a LONG time), and Retina graphics! Dictation support has also been added.

Those who purchased or redeemed the iWork apps through the Mac App Store can update through the Mac App Store, while those who installed the updates via disc can grab the update through Software Update on their Macs, or download directly from Apple.

While it’s not the brand new overhauled version of iWork many have been hoping for, it’s a good start – and we may just see a new version of iWork yet! Only time will tell. Pages, Keynote, and Numbers are available for $9.99 each from the Mac App Store.

The full change log can be found below:

Keynote 5.2, Pages 4.2, and Numbers 2.2 are updated to take advantage of the following features available on OS X Mountain Lion:

– iCloud: Store documents in iCloud, and keep them automatically up-to-date across your Mac, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and the web. Changes made to a document on one device, automatically appear on all your other devices. This requires iWork for iOS 1.6.1 or later to be installed on your iOS device.
– Dictation: Speak words, numbers, or sentences, and watch them appear in your presentation, document, or spreadsheet.

The iWork apps are also enhanced to take advantage of the Retina display on new Mac hardware, so presentations, documents, and spreadsheets appear sharper and more vibrant.
