Apple will unveil its much-rumored lower-cost MacBook in a selection of bold colors at its “special Apple Experience” event on March 4, according to a Weibo post by the leaker known as “Instant Digital.”
The leaker says the color scheme of the Apple logo graphic used for the upcoming “Experience” invitation likely match the color options of the new entry-level MacBook. The graphic shows a 3D Apple logo made up of transparent discs in yellow, green, and blue.
Apple has announced that it will hold the media event in New York, London, and Shanghai, on March 4, 2026 at 9:00am ET.
Previous rumors have indicated that the cheaper MacBook would come in several colors. In June 2025, Apple industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the new laptop would be available in silver, blue, pink, and yellow finishes, match the entry-level iPad finish options.
In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman said Apple has tested a range of playful color options for its upcoming low-cost MacBook, offering a much more colorful selection than the current Apple laptop lineup.
Gurman noted that the colors tested so far include light yellow, light green, blue, pink, classic silver, and dark gray, although he also noted that it is unlikely that all of the color options will make the lineup.
The low-cost laptop is expected to be powered by an iPhone chip, likely the A18 Pro, rather than an M-series processor. It will also feature a 12.9-inch display, an aluminum chassis, and will likely retail for well below $1,000.
