Apple Releases First Public Beta Seeds of iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, macOS Tahoe 26.6, watchOS 26.6, and tvOS 26.6

Apple on Thursday seeded the first beta releases of its upcoming iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, macOS Tahoe 26.6, watchOS 26.6, and tvOS 26.6 operating systems, with the public seeds coming two days after Apple first seeded the betas to developers.

Registered public beta testers can download the public betas from the Software Update section of the Settings app on each device.

iOS 26.6 so far has yielded the only new feature among the new betas, with a feature that will let you know when you have blocked too many contacts. Most users will not have to worry about this though, as the limit on blocked contacts is in the thousands.

Apple will unveil iOS 27, , iPadOS 27, macOS Tahoe 27, watchOS 27, and tvOS 27 in June at WWDC26, so this update to the “26” versions of the operating systems will likely be limited to bug fixes, performance enhancements, or minor new features.

As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on their daily driver iPhone or iPad. Instead, only install betas on a device set aside for testing purposes.
