Apple Releases New MacBook Pro, Mac Mini Firmware Updates

Apple Releases New MacBook Pro, Mac Mini Firmware Updates

Following a MacBook Air firmware update earlier this week, which brought Thunderbolt Display compatibility to the new MacBook Airs, Apple has now released firmware updates for both the Mac Mini and MacBook Pro.

The MacBook Pro and Mac Mini firmware updates bring the same Thunderbolt and Internet Restore fixes to the current MacBook Pro and Mac mini models.

– Macbook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.2 (4.17 MB)

This update enables Lion Recovery from an Internet connection and includes fixes that resolve issues with Apple Thunderbolt Display compatibility and Thunderbolt Target Disk Mode performance on MacBook Pro (early 2011) models.

– Mac mini EFI Firmware Update 1.3 (4.26 MB)

This update includes fixes that enhance the stability of Lion Recovery from an Internet connection, and resolve issues with Apple Thunderbolt Display compatibility and Thunderbolt Target Disk Mode performance on Mac Mini (mid 2011) models.

Apple has reportedly already begun shipping their new Thunderbolt Displays to retail stores, and they should be available for retail purchase in the very near future.
